Fran Balseiro
A theatrical photographer who loves the mystery
My name is Fran Balseiro and I live in Viveiro, a small town in Lugo (Spain).
My love of photography began about 15 years ago. Since then, I haven’t released the camera.
Although I started photographing landscape and nature, I find street photography more interesting. When you go out into the street, every moment, every instant is different. It’s the emotion of going out and not knowing what you’re going to find, relating to people and sometimes knowing something about their lives.
I like turning street photography into art. I’m a pretty perfectionist person and I always try to look for art in my photography. I give a lot of priority to composition and especially to light, looking for the best hours. And if I can tell a story with my photography, so much the better.
That’s a challenge for me and I love it.
