I am originally from Glasgow, and being a wanderer at heart, I currently reside in Tokyo with no intention of ever leaving. My first visit to Tokyo in 2013 was a love at first sight experience. For me, Tokyo is one of the most photogenic cities in the world, especially for street photography. I am now in a position to pursue my passion for this particular genre and can often be found exploring the city streets day and night, with a pocketful of change and a head full of jazz.
Years ago, I purchased my first digital camera and began to capture street photography, which has since become my love and passion. My style is candid and up-close, capturing people and moments that reveal something about our city streets and how we live and interact in them. Over the past year, I have been fortunate enough to shoot in Basel, Paris, Istanbul and Tokyo, meeting other street photographers and experiencing a new dimension to my work. This exposure has helped me grow my ideas and try new techniques in my own work.
I have been working in a professional photo studio for four years and have also worked as an editor and contributor at EYE-Photo magazine.
