Jay Tanen & Tuna Angel
Two images that demonstrate the surprise of the subjects.
Both have a perfect, unbalanced composition. Both have a dominant colour, (Jay’s red, Tuna’s blue) and in both the hands take on great importance.
Jay surprised two lovers and Tuna a figure in the storm... In short, two beautiful stories.

This scene is absolutely perfect. In the left corner we see the faces of some of the girls photographed, with their fingers in a heart shape, in what I think is a a Korean gesture. It feels very much like a group of tourists, in high spirits. Meanwhile the two advancing local girls add a nice juxtaposition of mood. Great light and b/w.

by Janusz Jurek
Today’s Photo of the Week by Janusz Jurek is strong. Bathers, reluctantly caught by the streeter, seem to demonstrate that human spirit to carry on a regardless.
A beach, loomed over by the five towers of some industrial plant, makes for a strange scene.

This shot is so much more than well framed to capture whole scene.
I really like the negative space so dark, which allows you to focus on the protagonists: a lamppost, a woman and the wooden railing.
Her posture can tell us different stories, but in mine it speaks of a moment of acceptance of something negative, a moving on.
Details of cobwebs on street light as well as her exhaling are a gem.

Borislav Kovachev
An image made of arms. Where the little boy is hidden but you can guess his expression. The thought that goes to the images of William Klein, so street and at the same time documentary of a society... here in colour

A beautiful explosion of colours and light. A clown and a beautiful smiling girl.
At times like this, when our thoughts are often full of anguish and sadness for the events of the world and the stupidity of the human race, we need these moments of light-heartedness.

Petros Kotzabasis
A classic photo that tells of an intimate moment.
A stolen moment that makes us imagine a story and makes us think about the future life of the two protagonists.
A moment that probably belonged to each of us...
A perfect image, story, composition and black and white.

Simone Christina Sander
A beautiful noir story!
Their legs suggest a slow movement, almost a waiting for something to happen, beyond the light, in the dark

What makes this ordinary moment in a coffee shop seem so profound?
More than just the apparent genuflection, almost kneeling to pray, the protagonist’s whole being puts me in mind of Peter Hammill’s “The Lie”, in which he speaks of “secret silence, sacred secrets”.
The coffee cup looks like offering held up to the light. The mood enhanced by the sumptuous black shadows is made all the more extraordinary by the highlights of mundane objects in the foreground: the chair, the plant and water dispenser.
This is an image to lose yourself within, just as the man knelt before the window lost himself in thought.

Sam Benari
A beautiful black and white that shows us a reality with which we cohabit but which we pretend not to see.
A gesture of tenderness that many of the so-called wealthy people would not know how to do.
