I do not have that one photo and not that one style. I experiment and try different things. The one important thing is to have fun and be patient in order to capture the right moment.
Pia is a photographer and book author. Her photographic work focuses on the fleeting moments of everyday life. She enjoys thinking about photography, its meanings and possibilities and shares these thoughts in her workshops and books on soft skills in photography. In 2020 she was appointed to the German Society for Photography (DGPh) and is a member of the Optic Nerve Collective and the Collectif Photon Nice. Her photos and conceptual works are exhibited worldwide.
I see myself as a social documentary photographer. I spend a lot of time with street photography, and with the special view through the viewfinder. The eternal question is: what do I see, what is there? What am I including in my picture, what do I exclude? Taking photos for me is joy, exchange and the basis for the books I write about soft skills in photography. As a PhD in biology, I deal with how to transport emotions through photography in order to draw attention to certain topics and grievances. Artistic and conceptual photography hold many views and answers and give me a way to convey my messages to the public in a more efficient way than through science.
Trying to capture the ephemerous moments of everyday life in an interesting way is my daily challenge and a good way to understand and express my relationship with humanity.
Does Street photography have to happen in the city?
